SPEAKER Robin Allen, ‘05 MBA – Senior Director, Vertex Inc. MODERATOR Alice Faraone - Asst. Director of Business Intelligence and Database Administration Five years ago, Allen became a virtual CIO. In that role, she had to evaluate whether the cloud was a viable option for the companies she served while considering factors such as size, financials, budget, capacity, and technology. Allen strategized with each organization, as well as multiple levels of leaders, to build and deploy a cloud strategy. Five years later, Allen runs program management for commercial software at Vertex, an industry leader in indirect tax software. She supports the development of products that are hosted in the cloud. Allen is leveraging her experience in all her roles to enhance and lead the development of tax technology used by the largest global retailers to calculate tax a million times over each day.
